Zaratan

Serigraph

12'' x 12''

2016

The Zaratan is a monstrous ancient turtle measuring several hundred feet in diameter. Its shell resembles a tropical island that has been known to lure sailors to its landscape. When night falls and sailors fall asleep, the Zaratan sinks below the surface, taking the souls of the sailors with it. Accounts of the great beast appear in ancient literature that date back to 200 BC. It’s unknown how many Zaratans roam the oceans today or are lurking in the depths of its waters.
